But you can check the accuracy of this myth by running tests. Your site does not need to use header tags except when used as part of your page design or content management system. If it doesn't fit the site design, skip the use of these tags. The notion that each of your pages should be devoted to optimizing only one keyword is another SEO myth that needs to be addressed.

It's also a myth that you need to frequently update your site, even though many people believe it greatly impacts your search engine rankings. While updating your site regularly with fresh content may lead to spiders crawling your site more frequently, it will have virtually no effect on your rankings. This means that you shouldn't make forced updates if your site doesn't need it simply to keep the search engines happy. It will have little effect on them. You will find that a lot of the popular niches have high ranking sites that haven't been updated in a long while.

All in all, SEO may require significant work and effort to rank your site successfully, the in the end the return is more than worth it. The most effective way to learn it is through your own experience and you are better off doing it this way than falling for all these myths that don't have one kernel of truth to them.
